Friday Oct 2nd – Monday, Oct 5th, 2009
The October 2009 Lighting Essential’s Workshop marks Don’s 4th return to Las Palmas, and Rocky Point. Each workshop has been different and we’ve added session both onsite and around town that enhanced the experience.
The workshop is $1,160 total. Here’s how that breaks down;
| Workshop Fee | $ 300 |
| Your Condo (3 nights) | $ 420 |
| House Fee | $ 220 |
| Models Fee | $ 100 |
| Friday event | $ 20 |
| Incidentals | $ 100 |
| $ 1,160 |
Basically you fee covers Don’s workshop fee, 3 night’s stay in one of our 1-bedroom condos, plus the “House Fee” which covers Don’s stay (and team) in one of our exclusive beachfront homes. The home is where Don puts on the workshop training, where the lighting equipment gets stowed, and where everyone has a good time.
The fee also covers some of the modeling expense, our welcoming party on Friday, plus $100 to go towards the props we provide (jet skis, horses, tips for locals, etc).

FAQ’s
Q. Is Mexico Safe?
A. We think so. Puerto Penasco did not have 1 case of the swine flu, and our town and the route from the states has not seen any increase in criminal activity. Google “Rocky Point” and see for yourself what’s happening.
Q. How much deposit is required?
A. $200 deposit is required to book the workshop. 20 days prior to the event, we’ll run the balance on the provided credit card.
Q. Can 2 photographers stay in the same room?
A. Yes. We can do almost anything guests request regarding the condo but it doesn’t change the fees for the other parts of the workshop. We’ll prorate the condo charge based on your request.
Q. Can friends and or family stay with me?
A. Absolutely. The condo sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 kids, and the price stays the same. It’s a busy workshop and you wont see them much, but Las palmas is a great place for families to relax.
Q. Can we stay somewhere else and still attend the workshop?
A. No. We provide Don our best rates and open the resort to the attendees based on us meeting a minimal level of occupancy.
Q. Can we come earlier, or stay more than 3 nights?
A. Abslutely. We’re happy to get fellow photographers our best rates.
Q. Can we upgrade to a bigger condo?
A. Yep, We’re happy to get you exactly what you want.
Q. Whats the cancellation policy?
A. The resort has a $200 cancellation fee if cancelled outside of 20 days. Inside this period, you’ll be charged a minimum of 1 night’s stay plus Don’s fee. If you can’t attend one of Don’s workshops, he typically allows a shooter to attend a future event at no charge.
Q. What ever happened with the Girls of Rocky Point Calendar?
A. In April, Don’s attendees got to work with the team at www.GirlsofRockyPoint.com to produce a great calendar. Check out the great videos and order a calendar.
