54::La Oficina Description

Welcome to “La Oficina”, your perfect beach get-a-way spot. If your boss calls, tell him you are at the office! We are from Colorado, and this is our Winter home. We live here from October through May. We hope that you enjoy our home as much as we do! Because we live here most of the Winter, we have a fully stocked kitchen and appliances ours and your use. It will be appreciated if you could try to care for everything as if it were your own.

In case you hadn’t noticed. We have huge tides here. Check the tide charts to see when the water is here. When the tide is out, the Sandis perfectly safe to walk on and go dig some little neck clams. They’re delicious. It is very unwise to try to drive a car or Quad out on the flats. To the amusement of many, we have watched cars, trucks, and Quads get buried up to the top of their wheels in soft areas. Security will not help you out; you have to hire a very expensive person to come out and pull you out before the next tide comes in.

We have great little old fashioned BBQ outside, and Mesquite charcoal by the gas tank. Please be careful with the coals. Let them burn out on their own.

The TV is a Smart TV, and not connected to any satellite system. The Wifi and password are on the modem, and on the refrigerator, so streaming is usually the best for whatever you want to watch. There is a sound bar and control for better sound, but the TV sound is OK. Of you don’t want to watch TV, there are board games, cards, and dice under the table in the living room. We have also left a few books to share with guests. Take one or leave one.

If you have a dog. Please be aware that there are Coyotes and they can be pretty brazen. We have not experienced any aggressiveness, but I wouldn’t chance leaving your pet out, especially at night.

There is a fire pit connected to the gas line outside the front door. Any evening, it’s pleasant to sit and enjoy the quiet. If you use it, please cover it back up AFTER it could off in the morning.

Our kitchen is equipped with everything you might need, including:

Coffee maker
Hand mixer
Electric juicer
Electric fry pan
Electric kettle
Waffle iron
Blender

And of course, pots and pans, plates, glasses, flatware, and other utensils. All of the above items (except for the kettle, coffee maker, and hand mixer) are in the cabinet to the left of the refrigerator. Please feel free to use the spices in the kitchen.

We have a swimming pool, workout room, and hot tub at the far edge of the Resort next to the Restaurant. They have a snack bar there and a great restaurant next door. Sports equipment, kayaks, paddle boards, corn hole, and bicycles are available for use at no cost. Beach/pool towels are in baskets under the bathroom sinks. There are also pickle ball courts on the far side of the Resort, once again free for you to use. Just go to the equipment room next to the pool with your ID to request the equipment.

The extra sleeping mattresses are above the dresser in the primary bedroom. There are sheets and blankets in the bin, and pillows in the bag.

Cards, dice, and lots of games are under the table in the living room. There is also a sofa protector there if your dog like to nap on the sofa.

The showers are simple to use. Just turn the large handle as far as it will go and wait for the water to heat up. Once you are in the shower, if you want the water a little warmer or cooler simply adjust the small handles. Once you find your perfect temperature, leave the small lever in place and every time you shower the water will be perfect.

Our water system is triple filtered before it comes out of the faucet, and is perfectly safe to drink.

Each room, including the TV room, has it’s own mini-split air conditioner. Like everywhere else, our electric bill scan be staggering, so if you can be judicious in leaving the air on when you need it, rather than all of the time, we would appreciate it. We generally find that cooling a bedroom down for an hour before going to bed and leaving it on during the night is more than adequate.

Aside from the people from Casago who manage the property, we also have a handy man who is here and next door often. His name is Juan, and he knows this house better than anyone, so if you see him around and you are having any problems, he can usually accommodate you. Casago is also very responsive to problems. If Juan is able to help you, any small tip at the end of your stay goes a long way.   He is a wonderful and truly trustable man.

We know you have choices when it comes to your vacation, and we are grateful that you chose our home. We would love to hear your suggestions of what we could do to offer a better experience for your next visit.
